Abstract

In rural areas, especially those with the presence of family farming, in places where families generally have low income and level of education, the situation of the treatment of sewage is worrisome, since in most cases are still used Fossa the black residue stocked can find the groundwater or contaminate rivers, lakes and springs. With the precariousness of basic sanitation, is essential to the creation of alternative technologies, mainly to meet small farmers, and contribute to the preservation of water resources. Considering these technologies, in this article we discussed the creation of sewage treatment plants in the "bowl of Evapotranspiration" (BET). Were deployed and monitored three systems, located in the municipality of Iretama, in the interior of Parana, and the results point to the involvement of families in the field activities, through environmental education jobs, as well as the reduction in parameters of the chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), complying with the standards of the Environmental Institute of Paraná.
