RIVERSIDE GEOGRAPHY – A FIELD OF THEORETICAL ANALYSIS
Abstract
Geography is part of the Human Sciences branch that is concerned with the construction of the objective reality of socio-spatial transformation. In order to contribute to this discussion, we present this text in which theoretical architectures developed from a look at the riverside landscape and place are revealed, in particular, on the Riverside Geography of the Ondas River, in West Bahia, a region that has focused attention on research of a physical nature and those related to the construction of a cultural identity in contrast and / or in symmetry with rural and urban values. In this case, we have uncountable analyses to be made on the landscape that has a complex and dynamic meaning, since the relationships established with the waters are available for various understandings. Thus, we present a theoretical framework that is also planned for application in riverside communities as its symbolic and material dimension allows the existence of actors that reframe territories, regions, landscapes and places.
