HOMICIDE TRENDS IN THE MARINGÁ’s MTROPOLITAN REGION
Abstract
Violence in Brazil is becoming one of the most dynamic and complex of urban studies nowadays. In order to systematize and point out some of the prospects for studies of Metropolitan Region of Maringá, this work presents some notions of how lethal violence has been evolving in this area, and how are the new patterns of violence for studies related to the theme. The work also seeks to point out some reasons that led Maringá’s metropolitan area to leverage its homicide rate in the temporal frame from 2000 to 2010 based on a study by the “Instituto Sangari”, raising some work proposals that can be made in order to solve or at least point out what are the real problems of Maringá’s metropolitan area in relation to violence.
