Abstract

This study aimed to delineate the socio-environmental profile of recyclable material collectors in the Apucarana city, in Paraná state. It is a quantitative research, applied to twenty-eight recyclable material. The information revealed that the profile of the respondents are mostly men, aged 31-40 years and have only the incomplete Fundamental Education. The vision they have in relation to the contribution of their work for the preservation of nature is that their activities is essential to the environment. However, it is notorious need for collaboration and awareness of citizens of the municipality researching the need for segregation of solid waste. These actions will bring direct implications in the actions of these workers and changes in public policy, promoting conditions for a fair and especially social integration with quality of life.
