THE TERRITORIALITY AND RURAL WAYS OF LIFE REDEFINED BY THE SUGARCANE SECTOR IN CARNEIRINHO – MG

Abstract

The research identified and analyzed the process of inserting the sugar cane located in the town of Carneirinho in mesoregion Triângulo Mineiro/Alto Paranaíba, also the socio-spatial and economic conditions. Furthermore, it is important to highlight how they settle the territorial bonds of local rural communities, their ways of life, customs and traditions and relationships that belonging to the place, that are mediated by their practices and specific knowledge. This paper was carried out through analyses of thesis, dissertations, books, scientific papers and specialized sites. And later, was made an analysis of the theoretical aspects, followed by fieldwork in the districts of Carneirinho to analyze the changes driven by the expansion of sugar cane, as well the implications on the territory.
