TOURISM AND HISTORICAL HERITAGE OF PORTO NACIONAL/TO

Abstract

This is a study about the concepts of tourism, cultural heritage, and culture. Such definitions are founded in what is named Cultural Heritage and Historical. Porto Nacional is a city originated around eighteenth century, by the Tocantins river. That period was marked by great flow of goods and people due the existence of a port that facilitated the transportation, in that fluvial time. The city reached visibility when it was considered as Cultural Heritage and Historical in 2008 after the process of registry. This made the State well-known when it comes to preservation of the heritage. Through bibliographic and exploratory research were adopted the ten risk agents proposed by Spinelli and Pedersoli (2011) as methodology, as well as types of tourisms in the city. Thus, It was aimed check the agents of deterioration to the historical heritage and possible solutions through the public politics.
