EVALUATION OF SOCIAL INDICATORS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAMBORÊ - PR

Abstract

The elaboration of public policies has become one of the strategies adopted by the governments as a way to combat the social and economic problems existing in the geographic space. In this aspect, this article aims to verify the public policies of local development in the municipality of Mamborê and the main transformations that took place between the demographic censuses of 1991 and 2010. The methodology used consists of the collection of theoretical material on the subject, obtaining of data on the website of Ipardes, IBGE and Atlas Brazil, semi-structured and qualitative interviews with the population and data analysis. The results obtained with the research show significant advances between 1991 and 2010, as improvement in the HDI-M (income, education and longevity). Regarding interviews with the population, the main problems highlighted were: unemployment, rural roads, public health, education, holes in the streets and problems with robberies and drugs.
