Abstract

The paper tries to present, through a brief analysis, based on previously presented research, the economic development of the countries of the so-called BRIC, a bloc composed of Brazil, Russia, India and China, during the period between 2000 and 2015, with the objective of analyzing under which aspects this development has been taking place and how the expansion of these economies may have changed the international relations in the recent period. From this analysis, we try to contest the report "Dreaming With BRICs: The Path to 2050", by the economic agency Goldman Sachs, which points out the economic growth of the BRIC countries as an indication of the construction of a new world economic order, with protagonism of the countries of this bloc. It is also tried to demonstrate how the economic development of the BRIC is not related to a restructuring of the center periphery relations, but in its reconfiguration on other models, but preserving the old relation of structured dependence in the international division of labor.
