INVENTORY AND CONSERVATION TO BURLE MARX GARDEN IN SUDENE

Abstract
The inventory of Roberto Burle Marx’s gardens in Recife has been developed since 2006 by the Laboratory of Landscape of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). It has begun with information on public gardens and now it is focusing on private gardens concerning the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Its main aim is Burle Marx’s modern gardens conservation as live monuments according Florence Charter from 1981. The first step selected six public gardens already protected by the National Institute of the Historical and Artistic Heritage in 2015. Concerning the protection of the private gardens, there are some which belonging to modern architectural group. Considering some problems of lack of conservation, this paper presents the results of the garden inventory of the Northeast Developing Superintendence – Sudene, a modern architectural structure of building and garden designed in 1972. It has a group of attributes to be preserved as an example of modern architecture heritage in Pernambuco.Downloads
