Abstract

This article exposes preliminary results of a doctoral thesis, the data have already been exposed to a qualification panel, thus the material in question aims to carry out a general analysis regarding the construction of a concept, ideological mobility. The latter seeks to integrate the question of mobility in the context of the political and ideological preferences of the Brazilian population, as well as their cycles of alternating political ideology in the face of electoral choice and thus establishing its possibilities as an analysis tool based on geographic science. In this sense, geography, being the scientific branch that addresses the interrelationship of anthropic actions with the physical-natural environment, a priori, would not be able to fully use ideology, since the term is placed, by different authors, as predominant only in terms of ideas, and not, therefore, in the context of spatial reality. However, this reading will seek to identify ideological influences that materialize in the geographic space from the results of the presidential elections that took place in the New Republic period, that is, the elections that took place between 1989 and 2018, geography is inserted in the policies of each elected ideological identity and its results are realized in space, this issue is exemplified from the reduction of inequality that can be reflected in the landscape. As a methodology of analysis, a critical dialectical perspective was adopted and theoretical readings that approach the concept of mobility and ideology were used as an investigation. For data cataloging, secondary information was sought from information from the Superior Tribunal Eleitoral (TSE, Superior Electoral Court), so that they were integrated in the form of tabulation and mapping.
