MOBILIDADE E CIRCUITOS-CURTOS ALIMENTARES

INCLUSÃO E OPORTUNIDADES NA REGIÃO SUL DE CURITIBA-PR

Abstract

The Short food circuits, or short food supply chains, supports the marketing of local products, sold by the producers themselves or at most with one more intermediary, generating great ecological advantages and contributing to the gains of the practice of Urban Agriculture. Mobility, or the lack of it, can have a strong relationship with the financial capacity to use the transportation system. Although this is considered fast and inclusive, the lack of accessibility in more peripheral regions may also restrict its use, either because of distance or lack of infrastructure investments, such as sidewalks or pavement roads. This article intends to contribute to the dissemination of the mobility problems in Curitiba's southern region. With a bibliographical survey regarding mobility issues, this study continues the research developed during the Master's degree in Geography about Urban Agriculture. The article aims to introduce the subject for future research related to immobility and loss of opportunities in Curitiba's southern region. The results point out that the gains from the practice of urban agriculture, among them the ecological benefits of short food supply chains, are hindered by the isolation of its gardeners.
