Abstract
Contemporary society is experiencing a world context that impels it to the displacement without pay, either by the result of the dynamics of the productive process, or by the needs and rights of coming and going in daily life. To think about locomotion is to consider that humanity has always presented this need. As man evolved, the transformations in his arrangements also happened. Among them, the sidewalk is an important device for pedestrian displacement in cities and needs to be aligned with current norms and laws to promote mobility and accessibility for all. This article aims to gather information about the structural conditions, mobility and accessibility of the sidewalks of the campus of the State University of Londrina (UEL), based on the methodology of the Sidewalk Quality Index (IQC), a map of them was elaborated according to quality indicators, evidencing, through analysis and reflections, their main problems. Through a research directed to the academic community it was possible to conclude that the structural conditions of the sidewalks interfere in the choice of the means of displacement used to access the university, proving the importance of the sidewalk in human displacement.
