NOTA SOBRE O PROBLEMA DE SE PENSAR EM UM PERFIL DE ABUSADOR
Abstract
This brief note discusses the problematic implications of the idea of a specific abuser profile, based on the case of gynecologist Felipe Sá, who has been accused of abuse and violence by several women. The media often highlights cases of abuse committed by healthcare professionals, revealing that rape can occur without penetration and in various forms, challenging the social stereotype of a violent perpetrator. The objective of this analysis is to highlight the potential problematic consequences of thinking and promoting the existence of an abuser profile, particularly in a professional context where care and violence can become blurred. While studies address the profile of men who perpetrate domestic violence, identifying an abusive situation within a professional relationship becomes more complex. The narrative of an abuser profile can shift the focus away from the actual problem and suggest that individuals, especially women, should be trained to identify traits of an abuser. It is important to note that this work does not address legal issues but emphasizes the possibility of revictimization of women when the existence of an abuser profile is reinforced.
