Abstract

This article addresses a qualitative research on physical accessibility, developed within the Postgraduate Program in Education at the University of Brasília, during studies conducted in the discipline of Assistive Technology and Accessibility in Education. Focusing on the FE-1 building, Darcy Ribeiro Campus, the study sought to identify users' impressions, to understand the challenges they face, and to support the development of improvement proposals with the necessary adaptations identified. The methodology involved procedures such as documentary research, Walkthrough, architectural survey, evaluation script, and semi-structured questionnaires. Specific objectives included literature review, evaluation of infrastructure at FE-1, identification of challenges faced by users, understanding their perception, and proposing improvement recommendations. The results showed a predominance of users who use the bus, reporting challenges such as physical barriers, inadequate ramps, parking problems, and bathroom inadequacies. The proposed improvements include obstacle removal, ramp reconstruction, adequate signage, bathroom renovation, and parking organization. The perspective is that this study can contribute to understanding users' experiences, emphasizing the importance of adapting educational spaces to promote equality and accessibility.
