Updates in The Evaluation of Locoregional Lymph Nodes in Bitches With Mammary Tumors
Resumo
The incidence of mammary tumors in bitches has increased along with animal survival, therefore, a thorough evaluation is essential for the diagnosis. One characteristic of mammary tumors is the great capacity of developing metastasis. Being responsible for drainage of the mammary glands, play an important role in spreading tumor cells, being a negative prognostic factor. The development of new techniques to evaluate sentinel lymph nodes and early identification of alterations contribute positively in patient survival. This review discuss evaluation of locoregional lymph nodes in bitches with mammary neoplasms and diagnostic methods available.
