PRINCIPAIS EXAMES DIAGNÓSTICOS NAS DOENÇAS PROSTÁTICAS EM CÃES: REVISÃO
Resumo
A próstata é a única glândula sexual em cães, tendo fundamental importância para a manutenção do fluido seminal, além de anatomicamente, estar intimamente ligada a uretra prostática, onde os ductos ejaculatórios desembocam. As prostatopatias representam uma incidência baixa na rotina clínica, mas quando presentes possuem sintomas inespecíficos e necessitam de exames complementares para seu diagnóstico. A principal afecção prostática é a hiperplasia prostática benigna, estando presente na maioria de cães adultos inteiros, sintomáticos ou não. A prostatite e os cistos prostáticos referem menor prevalência dentre as prostatopatias, mas possuem grande importância clínica, principalmente pelos seus sinais clínicos sistêmicos. As neoplasias referem-se à forma mais severa de afecção, sendo que a mais comum é o adenocarcinoma, que possui alto índice de metástase. Os biomarcadores de próstata são semelhantes aos dos homens, porém sua identificação em cães ainda é restrita, principalmente pela falta de conhecimento de suas reais funções. O CPSE é um marcador promissor, pois há estudos recentes que o relacionam a detecção precoce de neoplasia prostática. O exame ultrassonográfico é uma técnica diagnóstica pouco invasiva e que fornece informações importantes sobre a anatomia, tamanho e comprometimento prostático. O trabalho objetiva descrever as prostatopatias e principais métodos diagnósticos para estas afecções. Pela análise da literatura conclui-se que a hiperplasia prostática é a afecção prostática mais comum, a CPSE é a principal glicoproteína para diagnóstico de hiperplasia e neoplasia, e o exame ultrassonográfico o método diagnóstico menos invasivo para determinar o tamanho e comprometimento prostático.Downloads
