Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- URLs for referrals were provided when possible.
- The submitted article is written in Portuguese or English.
- The authorship identification has been removed from the article, thus ensuring blind peer review.
- The submission follows the "Guidelines for authors".
Author Guidelines
Conditions for submission
As part of the submission process, authors must check the items listed below:
- The manuscript must meet the objectives and scope of the journal;
- The contribution must be original and unpublished and not being evaluated by another journal;
- Manuscripts must be submitted in Portuguese or in English;
- Files must be submitted in Microsoft Word format. The identification of the manuscript's authorship must be removed from the file, in order to maintain the journal's confidentiality criteria, for peer review;
- The manuscript must be divided into unnumbered sections, such as Summary, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgment and References, with all figures and tables inserted in the text;
- The manuscript must contain between 10 and 20 pages. The text must be written in 1.5 spacing in 12-point Times New Roman font;
- All references cited throughout the manuscript must be included in the list of references;
- The text must follow the style standards and bibliographic requirements in this Guidelines for Authors;
- A cover letter must be prepared, contextualizing the article and explaining the novelty of the research;
- Authors must send a file with the suggestion of 5 (five) potential reviewers for the manuscript, with their e-mails and affiliation;
- At the end, 3 (three) files must be sent by the authors: i) manuscript; ii) cover letter; iii) suggestion from 5 (five) reviewers.
Guidelines for Authors
OPEN ACCESS POLICY
Revista Tecnológica is published under the Open Access model and allows anyone to read and download files, as well as copy and disseminate their content, in accordance with Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 copyright policies.
ARTICLE PROCESSING FEE (APC) AND SUBMISSION FEE
Revista Tecnológica does not charge authors any type of submission or publication fee.
POLICY AGAINST PLAGIARISM AND RESEARCH MISCONDUCT
The Revista Tecnológica guidelines aim to encourage the identification of plagiarism, bad practices, fraud, possible ethical violations, and the opening of lawsuits.
Before submission, authors must check the following criteria:
- Articles that contain data acquisition or analysis and interpretation of data from other publications must explicitly reference them;
- When writing articles that contain a critical review of the intellectual content of other authors, these must be duly cited;
- All authors must meet the criteria for original authorship of the article and none of the researchers involved in the work can be omitted from the list of authors.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSION:
- The Revista Tecnológica, ISSN 2447-2476 (online), is published by the Technology Center of the State University of Maringá, in continuous publication mode.
- The journal publishes original articles in the technological area.
- Authors are obliged to declare the assignment of copyright and to declare that their manuscript is an original work and that it is not being subjected, in part or in whole, to analysis for publication in another means of scientific dissemination under penalty of exclusion.
- The data, ideas, opinions, and concepts expressed in the articles, as well as the accuracy of the references, are the sole responsibility of the author(s). Any mention of products and trademarks does not mean a recommendation for their use by the magazine's editorial committee.
- Reports must be based on the most advanced techniques appropriate to research. When necessary, it must be certified that the research was approved by the institution's Research Ethics Committees.
- Articles may be submitted in Portuguese or English, in which case the authors must provide a quality version.
- Articles will be evaluated by reviewers in the area of research knowledge, from national and foreign teaching and/or research institutions, with proven scientific production. The article may be accepted for publication after the necessary corrections and possible suggestions.
- Articles must be submitted exclusively online, at https://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevTecnol/index;
- When submitting the manuscript, authors are responsible for recognizing and revealing conflicts of interest that may have influenced the work. Authors must identify in the manuscript all financial support obtained to carry out the work and other personal connections related to its completion.
- The formatting and other conventions that must be followed are listed below:
- a) In the submission process, the full names of the authors, ORCID identification number (ID), their institutional addresses, and the email address of the author indicated for correspondence must be inserted.
- b) Articles must be subdivided into subtitles, containing the Resumo (in portuguese), and Palavras Chave (in portuguese), Abstract, Keywords, and, preferably, but not necessarily, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, and References.
- c) The title must have a maximum of 130 characters.
- d) The Summary and Abstract must be 200 to 300 words long, with succinct information about the objective of the research, the experimental materials, the methods used, the results and conclusions.
Up to six Palavras Chave (in Portuguese) and Keywords must be added to the end of the Resumo (in Portuguese) and Abstract, respectively.
- e) Articles must be 10 to 20 typed pages, including all figures, tables, and references.
The text must be written in 1.5 lines space and have its pages and lines numbered sequentially. The work must be edited in Word, or compatible, using Times New Roman font, size 12.
- f) The work must be formatted in A4 and the bottom, top, right and left margins must be 2.5 cm.
- g) The file containing the work that must be attached (transferred) during submission cannot exceed 2 MB in size.
The identification of authorship of the work must be removed from the file, thus guaranteeing the journal's confidentiality criteria, to be submitted for peer review.
- h) Tables, figures, and graphs must be inserted in the text, immediately after being cited.
- i) Figures and tables must not exceed 17 cm in width.
- j) Digitized figures must have 300 dpi resolution and, preferably, saved in jpg or png format.
Color illustrations will be accepted for publication.
- k) The International System (SI) of measurements must be adopted.
- l) Equations must be edited using Word's Equation Built.
- m) The variables must be identified after the equation.
- n) Review articles can be accepted for publication.
- o) For citations in the text, use the surname and year: Et (2001) or (Et, 2001);
for two authors: Costa and Mansur (2008) or (Costa & Mansur, 2008); for three or more authors, Martín et al. (2008) or (Martín et al., 2008).
REFERENCE TEMPLATES
The titles of the periodicals must be complete and not abbreviated, without the place of publication.
References must contain the DOI.
