MACROSCOPICAL AND MICROSCOPICAL OBSERVATIONS OF RETROAORTIC LEFT RENAL VEINS

In three of 100 cases analyzed, the researchers identified the presence of left renal vein with descending main trunk which bifurcated at the level of the third lumbar vertebra, giving rise to two vessels of retroaortic course, which ended on the inferior vena cava at the level of the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae. Through macroscopical observations and histological sections stained with Azan and Weigert-Van Gieson, they concluded that the retroaortic segments were thin-walled with ill-developed adventitious and median tunicae.Downloads
