The meteorological data used in this research were collected at Estação Climatológica Principal de Maringá (ECPM) (Main Weather Station of Maringá - MWSM, Universidade Estadual de Maiingá, State of Paraná, Brazil) which is a constituent of the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia network (National System of Meteorology). Its location is 23º25’S latitude, 51º57’W longitude and 542m altitude. The objective of this study is to verify the efficiency of Thornthwaite, Camargo and simplified Penman methodologies when compared with the data obtained by class “A” pan methodology. The three models showed significant concordance through Willmott index and significant performance through “c” index, thus being feasible to be used to estimate potential evapotranspiration, but their choice will depend on meteorological information available.Downloads
