Air temperature is one of the climatic elements that shows the most significant oscillation during the whole year. To better understand this phenomenon, the average and absolute amplitudes were determined for the driest, the most humid, the hottest and the coldest four-month periods in Maringá, 1976 through 1995. The results showed that 10.0ºC represents approximately the average thermic amplitudes and that 20.0ºC represents approximately the absolute thermic amplitudes and that the largest amplitudes are closely linked to the lowest rainfall period.Downloads
