Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a software developed for the Brighton Pediatric Early Warning Score (BPEWS), implemented in the pediatric ward of a teaching hospital, aiming to improve the safety of pediatric patients and reduce complications. The methodology includes the development of software integrated with the electronic medical record and training of the nursing team, followed by data collection through questionnaires to assess usability and applicability. The tool is expected to contribute to a more agile recognition of serious clinical signs, promoting rapid interventions and reducing the need for transfers to pediatric ICUs1, 2. Furthermore, the project seeks to provide support for future implementations of the tool in other hospital environments, reinforcing the quality and safety of pediatric care3, 4.
