: reflexões sobre o desenvolvimento das problemáticas nos estudos sobre a cultura Pop.

Abstract

This work consists of a comparative article, which seeks to reflect on developments within the field of research on culture, mainly the so-called Pop Culture, with regard to its methodologies, theories and issues. For this, case studies are carried out on the application of the theories of the Frankfurt School, English Cultural Studies, and Douglas Kellner's Media Culture. These studies are respectively: Adorno's critique of Jazz, David Morley's research on television audience and, finally, Douglas Kellner's multicultural critique of Rambo. The method used is exploratory bibliographical research. It is concluded that the issues and methods used in research on culture have expanded in complexity, variables and issues over the course of the 20th century.
