Author Guidelines

Submission guidelines

The Revista 29 de Abril aims to broaden the channels for the publication of historiographical research and productions in this field of knowledge. To this end, up to 10 texts will be published per issue: free articles, which will only be accepted if they are original or unpublished and exclusively by authors whose minimum degree is a master's degree; reviews, which must be submitted by authors who, if they are undergraduates, must indicate their respective supervisors as co-authors; and, for the “First Steps” section, articles will be accepted that contribute to the discussions listed by the authors themselves with a minimum degree of undergraduate, who must indicate their supervisor as co-author of the work, who must have a minimum master's degree.

Please note that for the blind peer review, no authorship information should be included in the document or file. In this sense, authors must submit their biographical and academic data in a separate file (see templates) and via the system, which will be inserted into the body of the text once the text has been approved for publication. All papers go through a double-blind evaluation that authors must comply with.

The formatting of texts for submission follows the guidelines of ABNT standards: NBR 14724:2011, which addresses the regulation of scientific papers, NBR 6022:2018, which defines what is configured as a scientific paper, as well as NBR 6023:2018  and NBR 6028:2003 regarding references and NBR 6028:2003 for abstracts. Articles and iconographic or audiovisual production must be unpublished, the responsibility of their authors, and therefore sent in accordance with the rules set out in the submission guidelines.

Revista 29 de Abril provides authors with templates for Free Articles, Reviews and First Steps. Authors are asked to download the template that corresponds to their desired section and submit their work using the template provided.

For technical reasons, we ask that the titles of FILES (.doc or .docx) do not exceed 90 characters with spaces. This rule does not apply to the titles of ARTICLES that appear in the paper, which require other formatting as indicated in the templates provided.

We also ask authors to download the Biography Template and fill in the information requested. The file containing the biographical information must be attached to the submission of the manuscript, and the evaluation of the work is subject to its submission.
