Composites made of Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) and wood flour were prepared and evaluated by this study to obtain biodegradable and greater environmental degradation materials. PHB is a thermoplastic polyester completely biodegradable produced by bacteria. Composites prepared by PHB and the wood flour in ratios of 10 to 40% of mass, prepared by extrusion and injection molding technique, were evaluated regarding the water absorption, dimensional stability and behaviour toward some chemical reagents. The results showed that the wood flour could be used as an excellent reinforcing material for some specific composite application, mainly in biodegradable products. And they are also able to satisfy both the economical and ecological interests.Downloads
