The center composite design is symmetrical, of second order, and constituted of two parts: the factorial 2k, with one or more central points, and the axial. The aim of this research has been to verify, through simulations, the design type in field experiments, for instance, in Agronomy; in laboratory bioassays in Phytopathology, Virology and Entomology with variation coefficient not superior to 6%; and in chemical industry experiments with variation coefficient inferior to 3%. It has been verified that its use is not recommended when variation coefficient is over 6% when best points are expected; likewise, in field research, even with repetition of treatments, since responses and points do not meet expected valuesDownloads
