This article discusses rainfall variability, periodicity, cyclicality and tendencies in the state of São Paulo over the last 106 years as a contribution to the study of regional climatic changes. Total monthly rainfall data collected at 396 pluviometric stations of the Water and Power Department (WPD - DAEE) were treated statistically with special emphasis on moveable averages calculations. The results led to the conclusion that the period analyzed presented a regular periodicity and cyclicality between rainy and dry seasons, and that there was a significant increase (10% to 12%) of rainfall in almost all parts of the state of São Paulo over the period investigated.Downloads
