This study was conducted based on data from 50 climatological stations, with the objective of evaluating the performance of two rainfall spatialization methods in the State of Alagoas, using two interpolation methods: Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW), with an exponent of 2, and Spline. The space distribution of the interpolated data and the accuracy of the interpolators were verified through the method of cross-validation. Both methods were shown to be appropriate in accomplishing the interpolation; however, some expressive differences were observed. The IDW method is recommended for underestimating the value of precipitation in 2.2 mm, while Spline overestimated it by 4.3 mm. In face of the necessary safety for agricultural planning, the use of the IDW method is then recommended, as it also presented the lowest standard deviation of the mean, representing a smaller margin of errorDownloads
