Cost evaluation of minimum-area house layout solutions from the project´s geometrical variables. The cost of completing a housing project, represented by the cost of the whole building as a function of the least number of project variables, follows a worldwide effort for product cost definition during the initial stage of development. The proposed model quantifies costs as a function of five geometrical variables that define physical arrangement. The advantage of this methodology is that it allows the planner to obtain the project solution cost once the physical arrangement and the construction´s finishing touches have been decided upon. Based on the cost value as computed by the model, coupled with a value representative of quality in the geometrical solution of the physical setup, a cost/quality index of the project´s geometrical solution is given. Definitive parameters are thus provided to evaluate and select the project´s several possibilities aiming at optimization. Custo da solução de arranjos físicos de habitaçõesDownloads
