Composition, dry matter production and soil covering in exclusive and consortium growing of millet and sunnhemp - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v27i4.1298
Abstract
This experiment aimed to evaluate the viability of utilizing several vegetal species, a vegetal cover in exclusive and consortium growing, sowed in spring. The experimental design was randomized blocks with three treatments, composed of sunnhemp, millet and sunnhemp + millet, with four replications. Considering the results, it may be concluded that sunnhemp in exclusive growing for vegetal cover is viable, with a dry matter production above 10 t ha-1, the same observed for the consortium sunnhemp + millet, with dry matter production above 8 t ha-1. Millet allowed higher dry matter growth and soil covering, recycling an appreciable quantity of nutrients, specially nitrogen; both millet and consortium sunnhemp + millet provided excellent soil covering, up to 60 days after corn sowing.Downloads
