Effect of fungicide application and timing of harvest on sanitary quality of soybean seeds - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v27i4.1344
Abstract
Field experiments were carried out in crop season 2003/04, in Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil in order to evaluate the effect of the amount of fungicide sprays and timing of soybean harvest on sanitary quality of seeds. An arrangement of split plot design was used, with fungicide sprays on the plots and timing of harvest on the subplots, in a randomized block design, with four repetitions. The treatments with fungicide sprays pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole or carbendazin were: control without application, one application at R5, two applications (R4 and R6) and three applications (R4, R5 and R6). The timing of harvest was R9, R9 + 15, and R9 + 30 days. No significant differences among treatments for incidence of fungi, total of fungi and seeds germination percentage were observed for first time of sowing, when the harvest of the seeds was carried out at the stage R9. There was a significant increase in percentage of fungi incidence and reduction in seeds germination with delay of harvest, in all treatments in both times of sowingDownloads
