Evaluation of the squares in Maringá State of Paraná, Brazil - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v27i4.1677
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to know the reality of 102 squares of Maringá, situated in the north region of Paraná State. Maringá was built in 1947, projected by the architect named Jorge de Macedo Vieira. In order to achieve the aim of obtaining a real radiography of these public parks, two surveys were performed: a quantitative one and a qualitative one. In the first survey the equipment, structures and furniture of each square were quantified; in the second one, those elements of the previous survey were evaluated. As a conclusion the precariousness of most public parks is observed, not only concerning its maintenance but also when it comes to the lack of a minimum structure so that such spaces may accomplish their roles of socialization, meeting people or simply staying there.Downloads
