Abstract
The aim of the present work is to test the effect of the moisturized whitewash and of the fungicide benomyl on the control of saprophytic fungi during the shiitake production in logs. The effect of benomyl in concentrations 0.5; 1.0; 2.0; 4.0; 8.0 and 16.0 µg.mL-1 in the mycelial growth of the isolates of shiitake JAB-L; JAB-K; LE-96/17; LE-95/01 and LE-96/22 was tested in vitro. The isolate LE-96/17 was chosen for production in logs because it was the only isolate of shiitake that was not inhibited by benomyl in vitro. The experiment in logs had three treatments: control, moisturized whitewash and fungicide benomyl, each with 60 repetitions. After inoculation, the logs were kept in a masonry large cabin covered with adobe roof, during six months. After this time period, three induction shocks were carried out. The main sorts of identified contaminant fungi were the Trichoderma and Poria. The best treatment was obtained with benomyl. However, this treatment presented inferior averages of basidiomes diameter, productivity and biological efficiency. In all the harvests, residue of benomyl in basidiomes was not evidenced.Downloads
