<b>Influence of thermal treatments on the elimination of <em>Ceratitis capitata</em> in guava (<em>Psidium guajava</em> L.) fruits</b> - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v26i1.1967
Abstract
This work was carried out to verify heat vapor and hot water efficiency on guava (Psidium guajava L.) against fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata) (Diptera: Tephritidae) (Wied.) eggs and larvae and the effect of these treatments on the fruits. The treatments in general didn’t influence negatively the fruit quality. The mortality was 95.58% and 97.83% for C. capitata eggs and 1st and 2nd instar larvae, respectively, at 46ºC. The treatment with hot water was better than vapor heat. Eggs, 1st and 2nd instar larvae of C. capitata were tolerant to heat treatment at, 42, 44 and 46ºC for quarantine treatments necessitiesDownloads
