Abstract

The aim objective of this study was to isolate plasmids of Rhizoctonia solani and binucleate Rhizoctonia spp. and verify their presence with pathogenicity. Isolates of Rhizoctonia solani AG 4 HGI from bean and hypovirulent isolates of binucleate Rhizoctonia spp. obtained from bean plant and peanut fields in São Paulo State, Brazil, were analyzed as to presence of plasmid DNA; and the association between plasmids and pathogenicity was evaluated. Only the isolate FJ-39.10 of R. solani contained a 2.6 kb plasmid DNA. It was not possible to establish correlation between the presence of plasmid and the virulence or hypovirulence of isolates
