Genetic variability among formae especiales of Fusarium oxysporum and races 1 and 2 of F. oxysporum F. sp. Lycopersici by RAPD and DNA sequences of ITS and rDNA
Abstract
Differentiation from formae specials and races of Fusarium oxysporum by morphological and cultural characteristics is difficult and uncertain. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers and ITS1 and ITS2 (internal transcribed spacer) sequences were used to evaluate genetic variability among four different formae specials of Fusarium oxysporum (F. o. cubense, F. o. lycopersici, F. o. phaseoli and F. o. vasinfectum) and two races (1 and 2) of F. o. lycopersici. Genetic variability up to 50% was observed among the formae specials and 7% between races 1 and 2 of F. o. lycopersici using RAPD molecular markers. Similarity more than 97.2% among formae specials and races 1 and 2 of F. o. lycopersici was observed at ITS1 and ITS2 regions, whereas the 5.8S rDNA gene was 100% homologous among isolatesDownloads
