Yield and seed quality of two upland rice cultivars under two cultivation systems
Abstract
Hydric deficiency is responsible for the low productivity and seed quality of upland rice, stimulating tillage under aspersion irrigated systems. Thus, the experiments carried out in 1994/95 and 1995/96 at Faculty of Engineering-Unesp, Ilha Solteira, Selviria-MS, had the aim to evaluate the seed yield and physiologic seed quality of the two rice cultivars, Oryza sativa L. (Poaceae), Carajas and IAC201, in dry and irrigated cultivation systems. The productivity, 1,000 seeds weight and physiologic seed quality were evaluated. The aspersion irrigation system showed better results compared to dry system in all aspects evaluated in the two years. The cultivar Carajas had a better performance than the IAC 201, independent of the year and of the cultivation systemDownloads
