Evaluation and performance of soil water storage equations in a decadal climatic water balance for irrigation - DOI: 10.4025/actasciagron.v29i4.383
Abstract
The objective of this work was to compare the dynamic of soil water storage in two soil texture classes (sandy and clayey), in Ponta Grossa, state of Paran・, Brazil, using a program that allows the simulation of decadal climatic water balance for agricultural irrigation with five equations to estimate the soil water storage. The best results were obtained for the soil water storage values simulated for the clayey soil (AWC = 65 mm) with First and Second Order Potential and Co-senoidal equations. The equations of Braga (1982) and Thornthwaite and Mather (1955) did not present good results considering irrigations along the year. The five models did not present significant differences for water balance simulated without irrigation. The water balance simulation for sandy soil (AWC = 25 mm) resulted in inconsistent values.Downloads
