Abstract

Spray quality control should be accomplished in the process of chemical treatment, aiming to guarantee the efficiency, avoiding loss of product and damages to the environment. It is fundamental, thus, sprayers optimum conservation. This work aimed to carry out a qualitative evaluation of the sprayers in farms in the municipality of Cascavel, State of Paraná, southern Brazil. The conditions and presence (or absence) of main components in 62 sprayers were checked in the field. The appraised sprayers were divided in three categories: attached to tractors, PTO-driven trailed and self-propelled. The equipments showed inadequate maintenance. Considering the presence and the conditions of some components (nozzles, filters of lines, nozzles filters, among others), only 17% of the equipment evaluated was in good condition.
