Porosity and bulk density alterations of oxisol in two cultivation systems
Abstract
No-tillage and conventional tillage on alterations of porosity and bulk density in “distrophic dark red latisol” (Oxisol) is evaluation. Whereas samples were randomized and collected at two depths (0-0.10 and 0.10 – 0.20 m), the forest area was considered a control. Experiment, performed during 1997 – 2000, at Primavera Farm in Paraguaçu Paulista SP Brazil, had a design consisting of a split plot, with 3 main plots (no-tillage, conventional tillage and forest area), 2 subplot (0 – 0.10 and 0.10 – 0.20 m deep) and 4 replications. Results showed that no-tillage system tended towards an increase in soil compacting by density (1.81 Kg.dm-3) and microporosity (0.21 m-3 m-3), with higher values than those of conventional tillage and forest area at depths 0.10 – 0.20 mDownloads
