Evaluation of lactation curve of low-yielding gir cows: a Bayesianapproach - DOI: 10.4025/actascianimsci.v29i1.262
Abstract
The Bayesian methodology was used to fit the Wood function for milkproduction of low-yielding Gir cows with five lactation length: shorter than 228 days (group 1), of 229 to 269 days (group 2), of 270 to 293 days (group 3), of 294 to 304 days (group 4) and longer than 305 days (group 5). The presented procedure provides preciseestimates for parameters of lactation curve and permitted a direct comparison betweenlactations curves by evaluation of HPD interval for marginal posterior density of thedifference between parameters. These results didn’t show significance, accomplishing thatthe lactation length doesn’t affect shape of curves.Downloads
