Cooperatives and technical assistance: new parameters for action

Abstract

The issue on the modernization of the production systems and commercialization of agricultural and cattle breeding products has very peculiar features for associated companies. Although they have been sujected to new competitive pressure, similarly to what happened in all capitalist companies, particularly in the current globalization process, these companies are reorganizing their structures and focusing on technological and market insertion redefinition. Undoubtedly they have hit on very conflicting solutions for maintaining the cooperative principles essential to their unity and internal coherence. The technical assistance and extension are relevant in offering services aimed at integrating the new production dynamics. Beyond being a mere technological transfer, the Projeto Latão Cheio aims at opening opportunities for constructing new corporate identities among dairy producers.

Possui graduação em Zootecnia pela Universidade de São Paulo (1984) , mestrado em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1995) e doutorado em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2003) . Atualmente é professor doutor da Universidade de São Paulo. Tem experiência na área de Sociologia , com ênfase em Sociologia Rural.
