Abstract
Aspects of theory and practice related to studies on species richness and diversity measurement are presented to Biology Sciences undergraduate students. Questions concerning the designing of the research, data collecting and analysis are presented. Models of relative abundance distribution, diversity indices and estimators of species richness are briefly discussed, followed by bibliographic references on the theme. Pitfalls related to the inadequate analysis of diversity of species components, applied to the data, are showed to the studentsDownloads
