<b>Judge and understand: contradictions of multiprofessional team approach to the poisoned child’s family</b> - DOI: 10.4025/actascihealthsci.v26i1.1621
Abstract
It is an ethnographic study that aims to understand how the professionals of health – nurse, doctor, physiotherapist and social worker experience the approach to the poisoned child’s family and which the implications for their practice in the health care are. Using the ethno nursing method, 19 professionals of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, in Fortaleza, state of Ceará, Brazil, took part in the study. The results showed that the multiprofessional team has a contradictory approach, some categories were emerged such as: guilt, lack of information, prejudice, humanization, education, understanding, interdisciplinarity and institutional involvement that originated the cultural theme - to judge and to understand - contradictions of the approach of the multiprofessional team to the poisoned child’s family. In conclusion, the construction and repercussion of that approach in practice, involve the academic background and personal nature; however, in the participants’ lectures, the will of reflecting the contradiction of their respective approaches, and of facing the construction of a careful approach was present, established in cultural coherence.Downloads
