Abstract

COPD patients were submitted to a multidisciplinary pulmonary rehabilitation program of the Clinical Hospital of UFG. The nutritionists involved in this program evaluated the nutritional status, and analyzed the adequacy of caloric intake, as well as the relationship between the pulmonary function parameters and the nutritional status. Four female and 15 male patients participated in the program. The nutritional status was evaluated at the beginning and at the end of the program, and after three months the anthropometric, biochemical and hematological indexes were assessed, as well as the caloric intake. Gasometry and spirometry were used to determine the pulmonary function. It was observed that 78,9% of the patients were 15,60 ± 10,08 % underweight and the anthropometric, biochemical and hematological indexes did not show any statistical difference at the end of the study. The same happened with the measures of pulmonary function.
