Abstract
The dengue, a problem of public health of the current society, without reported cases for five years in Umuarama city, state of Paraná, Brazil, appears as epidemic in January 2002. This work is descriptive, qualitative, a study of multiple and observational case, that, from the data collection, analyzed the several social and environmental factors that may have contributed to this disease reappearance. That epidemic was caused, among other reasons, by pollution of suburban environment; lack of financial conditions of the population which influences the lack of cultural instructions; difficulty in implementing political public of basic sanitation and water; the lack of better life quality of the inhabitants in the outlying areas and the lack of knowledge of the population concerning the environmental education that has influence on health.Downloads
