Abstract
We intended to present in this article the partial results of the research that has been developed in Maringá State Prision. The aim was to analyze the mediator’s role - the librarian - one intern who has access to reading. An interview with the subject of our research was carried out. Two types of questionings were made: 1) subjects regarding the history of the intern’s reading - librarian; and 2) subjects regarding the relationship/organization of the library inside the institution. Besides, aspects related to the institution operation as well as the operation of its school were investigated. The theoretical supporting authors were: Michel Foucault; Michelle Perrot, Michèle Petit and Erving Goffman. The analyses indicate so far: a) the librarian’s strategies to exercise the mediator’s role b) strategies to form the collection.Downloads
