<b>Trade integration of the brazilian south region with brics: analysis through traditional international trade indicators between 2000 and 2012
Abstract
The structure of international trade of the Brazilian southern region with the BRICS countries is analyzed and the traditional indicators of international trade between peers were measured. Results show that south Brazilian commerce-BRICS trade has predominantly interindustry features. The products considered strong points in the region with the highest export potential comprise food, beverages, tobacco, leather shoes and hide. These results indicate that policies aimed at diversifying the export basket of the Brazilian southern states should not be neglected.
