Abstract
What is the expression of sexuality at old age? What are the positive attitudes among the elderly in relation to life and how do they face death? These were some of the questions we raised when watching the film “Elsa and Fred”. From these questions, we structured the present article into the following items: a) love, eroticism and sexuality among the elderly; b) depression and biomedicalization in the elderly; c) successful aging; d) family relationships of the elderly; and e) illness and death. We systemized some reflections, concluding that it is possible and healthy to have an old age with sexuality, not limited to genitality, and that cinema must contribute to the construction of new social representations, breaking the pathological vision of old age.Downloads
