Abstract
The aim of this article is to show Machiavelli’s essentially modern stance by highlighting and analyzing three aspects of his ideas: the emphasis given to man’s capacity for promoting political transformations, the secularization of social issues, and, finally, the idea of a prince committed to the national independence, security and welfare of all classes, conditions and associations that represent the foundation of modern society.Downloads
