Intercultural Challenges in the Reception of Migrants in Public Educational Institutions in São Paulo, Brazil
Abstract
This article addresses the interventions carried out by Projeto Ponte with the migrant population, in partnership with public schools in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, highlighting the reception of migrant parents with school-age children. The analysis focuses on schools located in regions with a high concentration of migrants, reflecting the challenges faced by these families in raising their children in an intercultural context. Initially, it discusses the reception of migrants in Brazil and the work with parents and educators from a psychoanalytic perspective. Following this, it presents the challenges faced by the actions of the Project, culminating in an analysis of these difficulties based on the Freudian concept of the uncanny.
